Company history

Aug. 1953 Meiwa Steelworks founded in Wakabayashi, Takaoka-cho, Hekikai-gun, Aichi.
- Fabrication of automotive components (timing gear covers, brake shoe drilling)
Oct. 1954 Repair and modification of machine tools started.
Apr. 1958 Manufacture and sale of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and of special hydraulic and pneumatic equipment begun.
June. 1960 Relocation of head office and factory to Ushida, Chiryu-cho, Hekikai-gun, Aichi, and operation started.
Oct. 1960 Incorporated as Meiwa Industry Co., Ltd.
June. 1988 Head office and factory relocated to Shinden-cho, Takahama, Aichi.
Oct. 1992 New factory constructed in Tomakomai, Hokkaido.
Name: Meiwa Industry Co., Ltd. Tomakomai Factory
Nov. 1993 Tomakomai Factory began operation.
Feb. 2000 Received Award for Outstanding Performance in Cost Reduction and Quality from Toyota Motor Corp.
Aug. 2004 Entry into prototyping model field.
Nov. 2012 PT. Tokoton Meiwa Indonesia established.
Aug. 2013 PT. Tokoton Meiwa Indonesia began operation.
Feb. 2015 Received Award for Technical Development from Toyota Motor Corporation.
Feb. 2016 Received Award for Outstanding Performance in Cost Reduction and Quality from Toyota Motor Corporation.
Feb. 2017 Received Award for Outstanding Quality Control from Toyota Motor Corporation.
Jan. 2018 Completion of PT. Tokoton Meiwa Indonesia new factory.
